PPCAI Shows Solidarity in Disaster Relief Efforts Following Typhoon Carina


August 15, 2024 – Cainta, Rizal – In a remarkable display of compassion and solidarity, the Philippine Paint and Coatings Association, Inc. (PPCAI) has stepped forward to aid communities ravaged by Typhoon Carina. This devastating natural disaster, also known as Typhoon Gaemi, has left a trail of destruction across the Philippines, with severe flooding claiming lives, injuring dozens, and displacing hundreds of thousands of individuals. In response to this crisis, the PPCAI has made a significant contribution to relief efforts in the hard-hit areas of Cainta, Rizal. Today, PPCAI officers including President Reggie Yu, Director for Special Projects Jonathan Bangayan, and Executive Secretary Cheryl Talampas personally delivered over 50 sacks of relief goods to Raven Support. This organization, led by the dedicated husband-and-wife team of Pastor Michael Pigar and Ms. Ralyn Pigar, has been at the forefront of the relief operations in Vista Verde Subdivision, Cainta.


The aid from PPCAI, consisting of essential items such as food, clothing, and medical supplies, aims to provide immediate support to families affected by the catastrophic flooding. The association’s involvement is a testament to its commitment to social responsibility and community support, particularly in times of crisis.

The devastating impact of Typhoon Carina, which prompted authorities to declare a state of calamity in the affected region on July 22, 2024, has been overwhelming. With the region home to approximately 13 million people, the scale of the disaster has necessitated a concerted and coordinated response from various sectors of society.


As the nation continues to grapple with the aftermath of Typhoon Carina, the efforts of organizations like PPCAI and Raven Support offer a glimmer of hope and demonstrate the power of community solidarity in overcoming adversity.
