SM Megamall, Mandaluyong City — The Philippine Paint and Coatings Association hosted a vibrant Mid-Autumn Festival Dice Game last night at Dads World Buffet in SM Megamall, attracting 106 attendees from 52 companies. Despite torrential rains that caused significant traffic disruptions, the event showcased the community's resilience and enthusiasm for celebration.
The evening began with registration at 5:30 PM, as participants arrived, shaking off the rain and exchanging warm greetings. The buffet dinner commenced at 6:00 PM, offering a delightful spread of dishes that catered to diverse tastes. Attendees gathered around tables, savoring the food while reconnecting with old friends and making new acquaintances.
Vice-President Patrick Negrete (Boysen) delivered the opening remarks in place of President Reggie Yu, who was unable to attend due to prior commitments. In his speech, Negrete emphasized the importance of community, reflecting on the significance of the Mid-Autumn Festival as a time for reunion and joy.
As the evening unfolded, participants were organized into ten groups of ten, setting the stage for a spirited competition. The rules were simple yet engaging: each player rolled three dice, aiming to achieve the highest score possible. Points were awarded based on the numbers rolled—1 point for each die showing a 1, up to 6 points for a die showing a 6. Players had the option to re-roll some dice to improve their scores, adding an element of strategy to the game.
Secretary-General Eden Ramos (DKSH) took charge as the official game host, her enthusiasm infectious as she guided players through the rounds. Cheers erupted as participants rolled the dice, and laughter filled the room with each score announcement. The atmosphere was charged with excitement, camaraderie, and friendly rivalry.
The stakes were high, with each table competing for a top prize of Php 1,000. The winners from each table were then gathered to compete for a bonus prize of Php 5,000, creating a thrilling climax to the evening. The final round brought a wave of anticipation as players rolled their dice one last time, eyes fixed on the results, hoping for victory.
In the spirit of the festival, no participant left empty-handed. Everyone received prizes, reinforcing the event's commitment to inclusivity and celebration. As the winners were announced, smiles and cheers resonated throughout the restaurant, highlighting the joy of participation and community spirit.
The successful event was a testament to the hard work and dedication of the organizing team. Special recognition was given to Director Alix Reyes (Chemrez) and Treasurer Carl Hu (Amstar), whose meticulous planning ensured a smooth and enjoyable experience for all attendees.
As the clock approached 8:30 PM, the festivities began to wind down, but the energy in the room lingered. Conversations continued as participants exchanged stories about their experiences and victories during the game. The Mid-Autumn Festival, rich in tradition, is a time for reflection, reunion, and joy, and this event successfully embodied those values.
The Philippine Paint and Coatings Association once again demonstrated that, even in the face of challenges like inclement weather, the spirit of community and celebration prevails. This year’s Mid-Autumn Festival Dice Game not only strengthened bonds among colleagues but also left a lasting impression of joy and togetherness in the hearts of all who attended. 🧧🧧🧧
